一般社団法人共同通信社は「ダイバーシティー・エクイティー＆インクルージョン（ＤＥＩ）宣言」を制定し、６月２３日、社長の水谷亨が発表しました。人々の知る権利にこたえ、平和で民主的な社会を支えるという使命のため、誰もが働きやすく、能力を最大限発揮できるよう、ＤＥＩを推進していきます。

共同通信社は客観的事実に基づく正確で公正なニュース、コンテンツを国内外に速く、深く、広く伝えることにより、人々の知る権利に応え、平和で民主的な社会を支えることを使命としています。

共に働く一人一人が個性や特性を互いに尊重し、刺激し合い、ジェンダーギャップの解消などに努めることは、組織の成長の原動力になります。それは多角的で深みのある視点を生み、より良い報道につながります。複雑に変化する社会を、多様な対象に伝えるためには、私たち自身が多様で公正であることが何より大切です。

Kyodo News' mission is to support peace and democracy by upholding the public's right to know through rapid delivery of fact-based, accurate and fair news reports and contents to Japan and abroad through our comprehensive news gathering around the world.

Respecting each other's individuality and attributes, taking inspiration from one another, and working together to achieve goals such as closing the gender gap all drive our organization's growth. An environment that brings forth varied and individually rich perspectives enables better news coverage. It is of the utmost importance that we are diverse and fair so that we are able to inform audiences who are diverse themselves about their complex and ever-changing societies.
